Show off your best white outfit and join us on a balmy Alpine evening for a spot of fine dining and good music that carries on into the night: on 15 August, the Tratterhof terrace hosts the White Night – our time-honoured summer festival combining Italian joie de vivre and South Tyrolean charm.

As the sun slowly sets behind the Dolomites, bathing the summer scenery in a warm glow, we celebrate one of the most atmospheric evenings of the year wearing crisp white outfits and basking in the festive summer vibe.

FERRAGOSTO: ITALY’S SUMMER FESTIVITY

We hold our White Night on 15 August to celebrate Ferragosto – Italy’s main public holiday in the summertime and a traditional highlight of the holiday season. The origins of Ferragosto date back to ancient Rome: the name comes from the Latin Feriae Augusti, the days of celebration and rest in honour of Emperor Augustus. Later, Ferragosto was made to coincide with the Catholic feast of the Assumption of Mary.

For many Italians, Ferragosto is a day for sharing good food and a good time with family and friends. Towns, villages and holiday resorts throughout the country – including in South Tyrol – celebrate the occasion with traditional festivals, concerts and culinary events.

At Tratterhof, we celebrate it with our signature White Night – join us and soak up the atmosphere!

True to our Italian spirit, the White Night revolves around a culinary experience inspired by the festive atmosphere. After a sparkling aperitif, we serve a flying buffet with a diverse selection of Tratterhof culinary creations – served in bite-size portions to encourage exploration. Discover new flavours, strike up conversations and enjoy the casual ambience.

The DJ set will set the tone as we transition from an indulgent evening into a vibrant summer night. There will be plenty of time to take in the mountainscape, raise our glasses to a great holiday and hit the dance floor.

A photo booth will be capturing the evening’s highlights, so you can take a souvenir home with you and reminisce about the elegant atmosphere and easy lightness of our White Night whenever you feel like it.

What makes our White Night so special? The secret lies in the location. Here at an altitude of 1,500 metres, the mountains form a spectacular backdrop. Imagine our terrace blossoming in crisp white as the last sun rays of sunshine set the peaks alight before making way for a clear starry sky – what better scenery for celebrating?
