Cheese Sommelier at Tratterhof

The world of South Tyrolean Cheese & much more

The tasting pleasure

Cheese is very much in vogue. The choice of products is enormous. South Tyrol, with its more than 5,000 mountain farmers, the many milk-processing cooperatives and the traditional alpine cheese dairies, has become a proud cheese country. It was therefore only natural that we should introduce our guests to the local cheese, in addition to the rich selection of exquisite wines, types of bread and speck. Our CheeseAdvisor and certified cheese sommelier Sascha regularly checks the available assortment on the market, visits producers and protagonists and tastes selected cheeses with surprise potential. Every week he presents his personal favourites to the Tratterhof guests. In this way he shares his passion for the mature milk speciality and introduces our guests to the fascinating world of the cheese country South Tyrol and also of many neighbouring regions.

At the same time there is the possibility to order the tasted specialities in the Tratterhof shop before departure, so that the return home - still with a piece of South Tyrol in your suitcase - can be as aromatic as possible.

From the sweet soft cheese to the long ripened alpine cheese as well as cheeky combinations with beer...your palate will thank you. Experience unusual taste experiences!

We look forward to your coming and to a lot of curiosity for the complex cheese world of our Alps.

At the moment the cheese tastings take place every Thursday at 5.30 pm. Information about content and costs can be obtained at the reception desk.

(Regular cheese supplier: Eggemoa from Mühlwald with finest soft cheeses).

(Beer supplier for the tastings: special beer brewery FORST)
