Welcome to your wellness and outdoor hotel in Maranza/Rio di Pusteria - South Tyrol!
Since we are very close to the sky and have the breathtaking mountain scenery of the Italian Dolomites at eye level, we are also called Mountain Sky Hotel. And rightly so, because our location at 1,500 metres is unique. We are the highest hotel in the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday region. Where else in South Tyrol can you enjoy a panoramic view over two main valleys (Val Pusteria in the east and Valle Isarco in the south) while relaxing in the sauna or enjoying a delicious drink on the terrace?
The Tratterhof****S - The Mountain Sky Hotel is located in sun-drenched Maranza, the picturesque village above the intersection of the Valle Isarco and the Val Pusteria valleys. The view up here, with the enchanting bishop's town of Bressanone below and the mystical mountain world of the South Tyrolean Dolomites in front, is impressive and accompanies our guests throughout their stay.

The host family
Tratte comes from the ancient German language and means something like "small piece of meadow". Hundreds of years ago, in every village the farm with the smallest piece of meadow and thus with the smallest plot of land was called the Tratterhof. This was also the case with the Tratterhof in Meransen.
Today, the addition of the name "Mountain Sky Hotel" reflects the breathtaking location of the Tratterhof and its purpose as a holiday domicile at 1,500 metres.
Even though nothing remains of the Pension Tratterhof, which opened in 1981, the Gruber-Hinteregger family has never forgotten the main reason for their endeavours with the 4**** Superior hotel, namely being a host family!
Hiking in Summer
