To the three Seefeld lakes through Valle di Altafossa/Altfasstal

Hiking hotel in South Tyrol: Tratterhof

The three Seefeld lakes lie idyllically in the midst of the Fundres/Pfunderer mountains. Through Valle di Altafossa/Altfasstal, the trail leads across extensive Alpine pastures past several huts that invite you to stop for a break. Behind Wieserhütte, a steep path leads to the biggest Seefeld lake at 2,276 metres above sea level. You should be sure-footed for this hike. From here, it takes about three quarters of an hour to reach the two small Seefeld lakes, embedded in lush green Alpine meadows at the foot of Cima di Campolago/Seefeldspitze. Spectacular panoramic views are guaranteed on this tour.

To Alpe di Rodengo/Rodeneck and Alpe di Luson/Lüsner Alm

Hiking hotel in South Tyrol: Tratterhof

Over 20 square kilometres and at an altitude of between 1,500 and 2,200 metres above sea level, Alpe di Rodengo/Rodenecker Alm and Alpe di Luson/Lüsner Alm offerhikes for every level. Walk a bit on the Dolorama Trail. Marvel at the magnificent world of peaks on Cima Lasta/Astjoch (2,194m). Or let nature whisk you away to enchanting places such as the Tschuppwaldsee lake or the Laiermoos biotope. We can promise you that after a day on one of Europe's largest high plateaus, you will be beaming like the mountain sun.

Up on Monte Cuzzo/Gitschberg

Hiking hotel in South Tyrol: Tratterhof

This is not only our local mountain but it’s also one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in Meransen. Your hike to the 2,512-metre-high peak starts at the Monte Cuzzo/Gitschberg cable car valley station and takes about one hour and 45 minutes. A tour full of views awaits you through larch forests and past Gitschhütte. If you want to shorten the route a little, take the cable car to the top station and from there you still have 400 metres of altitude to climb.

The “Big Five” on a hiking holiday

The “Big Five” in the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday region are Picco della Croce/Wilde Kreuzspitze (3,132m), Cima Cadini/Napfspitze (2,880m), Cima di Campolago/Seefeldspitz (2,715m), Cima di Terento/Eidechsspitze (2,740m), and Cima Lasta/Astjoch (2,194m) – all five not only provide excellent photo motifs but are absolutely worthwhile locations to explore near our hiking hotel in South Tyrol. Glacier fields, unique panoramas, and deep blue lakes make these tours unforgettable. Speaking of lakes: You can reach the three Seefeld lakes right from Tratterhof on foot in less than three hours.

On the edge of the Fundres/Pfunderer mountains, Tratterhof is the perfect starting point for a hike to Fallmetzer (2,568m). It is located between Monte Cuzzo/Gitschberg and the biggest Seefeld lake. Your path to it leads through a diverse landscape with spectacular views. Still a little lower in the mountains, the mighty Cima di Valmala/Wurmaulspitze (3,022m) towers above. This mountain hike requires good physical condition and sufficient surefootedness. But the effort will all be worth it.

Even higher with paragliding

Tratterhof is already the highest hotel in the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday region, but you can get much higher. If you stand on the viewing platform of Monte Cuzzo/Gitschberg on a sunny day, you will be able to watch them take off: paragliders. The feeling of freedom, the happiness hormones that flood the body, and the adrenaline that never let go of paragliders. During your holiday at Tratterhof, you can take your first tandem flight with a state-certified pilot from Mastgofly or a thermal flight. In safe hands, you’ll admire the mountains from above with a smile on your face – guaranteed.
