"Seefeldfee fairy by Tratterhof"

Photo competition

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, our Tratterhof Mountain Sky Hotel in Meransen (Mühlbach) is organising a photo competition for its guests dedicated to the scenic beauty of the three Seefeld lakes in the Fundres/Pfunderer mountains (approx. 2.5 to 3 hours’ walk from the Tratterhof).

Photo competition for guests of the Tratterhof Mountain Sky Hotel

The photo competition is entitled “Seefeldfee fairy by Tratterhof – Man & Nature”. The Seefeldfee fairy acts as the ambassador of the photo competition and, as a member of the jury, also helps to select the best photos. She will also be present at the award ceremony at the Tratterhof to determine/announce the winners.

The three Seefeld lakes

in Gitschberg Jochtal

So close to the Tratterhof...

The three Seefeld lakes in the Fundres/Pfunderer mountains are among the scenic highlights of the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday region. From Meransen, especially from the Tratterhof (1,500m), the first lake (great Seefeld lake – 2,271m) can be reached on foot in less than 2.5 hours via rustic Valle di Altafossa/Altfasstal. An alternative hike via the Monte Cuzzo/Gitschberg cable car and a subsequent high-altitude route is possible for very sure-footed guests.
The middle Seefeld lake (2,501m) and the small Seefeld lake (2,514m) can be reached in approx. 1 hour from the great Seefeld lake.

The photo competition & rules

The “Seefeldfee fairy by Tratterhof” photo competition has the theme “Man & Nature”. With the photo competition, the Tratterhof Mountain Sky Hotel wants to emphasise its proximity to the three jewels of the Fundres/Pfunderer mountains, the three Seefeld lakes, highlight the fascination of rustic Valle di Altafossa/Altfasstal, and motivate its guests not to miss out on this mountain experience during their holiday.

For long-lasting memories in the mind and on the memory card, a photo competition was chosen as the best possible initiative to put the lakes on our guests’ personal must-see list. In addition, we see the fresh water world of the Seefeld lakes as an Alpine counterpart to the feel-good water world in our wellness hotel with its Monte Silva Mountain Spa at 1,500 metres above sea level.

There are almost no limits to the participants’ choice of motif. The only condition: The photos sent in must unmistakably depict one of the three lakes on at least a third of the photo area. In accordance with the theme “Man & Nature”, the jury prefers photos that depict people as well as the lake(s).

Participation

Any guest who has already stayed at the Tratterhof in the last three years (2019/2020/2021) or will do so in 2022 may participate.

N.B. Depending on the snowfall in winter, an ascent to the lakes is usually possible between the end of April and mid-November. Interested participants are requested to check with the local tourist office or the Tratterhof reception beforehand.

A single photo or a photo series with up to three pictures may be submitted per guest.
Participation in the competition also implies that the photo or series of photos was taken by the guests themselves.
The processing of a photo through image editing software is permitted, provided that the guests have done this themselves.

The water world in the Mountain Sky Hotel finds its perfect counterpart in Alpine nature in the three Seefeld lakes.

The three Seefeld lakes in the Fundres/Pfunderer mountains are among the scenic gems of the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday region in South Tyrol.

The first lake can be reached in less than 2.5 hours on foot from the Tratterhof (1,500m above sea level).

The same view from the lakes and the hotel

The Seefeldfee fairy knows exactly why she prefers to stay at the Tratterhof. No other feel-good retreat is so close to the lakes. No other holiday accommodation in the area has a comparable water world with this Alpine view.
